How Kollego works
Pay once for the months you need. Nothing renews, and your progress stays when it ends.
A short diagnostic across your exam's sections, with a projected score range on the official scale and a map of your weak skills.
Set your exam date and daily minutes. Each day's session targets your weakest skills and shifts as they improve.
Interactive lessons, adaptive practice with freshly generated questions, hints and worked solutions, and full-length timed mocks.
Active practice
Watching a worked example feels like learning, but the exam asks you to produce the answer, alone and against the clock. Kollego is built around doing: you solve, get checked step by step, and the next question adapts to what you got wrong.
| Kollego | Typical video course | |
|---|---|---|
| What you do | Solve questions yourself, plus timed mock exams | Watch a teacher solve examples |
| Questions | Generated fresh each time, so you can't memorise answers | A fixed set that runs out |
| Feedback | Every answer checked, with hints and worked solutions | Mostly the solution shown in the video |
| What comes next | Picked from your weak skills | The next video in the playlist |
| Progress | Per-skill tracking and a practice score range | Videos watched |
Videos are good for a first explanation of a topic. Kollego lessons explain too, then move straight to practice.

No. Kollego is an independent prep product. TestAS is run by g.a.s.t./TestDaF-Institut; Studienkolleg entrance exams are run by individual Studienkollegs or state education authorities. We prepare you for these exams, we don't administer them.
It mostly depends on whether your existing school qualification is already recognized as equivalent to a German Abitur. If yes, you typically need TestAS for competitive MINT programs. If not, you usually need a Studienkolleg year first, ending in that Kolleg's Aufnahmeprüfung. Try our 2-question quiz for a quick pointer.
Digital TestAS is the current, primary format: computer-based, with a 3-subtest Core Module (20 items/25 min each) and a testlet-based Subject Module. Paper-based TestAS still runs a few times a year (e.g. April and October) but is being phased out, and has a differently structured 4-subtest Core Test.
